As a refresher, I'm Starfishmoon (she/her), or Starfish/Moon for short. Take your pick on a nickname!
What are your inspirations when it comes to art?
Video games, old anime, and the sea! I'm also especially fond of the superflat pop style. Specific media inspirations include Pokémon, Klonoa, Tales and Kaiba, while artistic inspirations include Osamu Tezuka, Hiromu Arakawa, Rumiko Takahashi, Hayao Miyazaki, Yu, Naoko Takeuchi, Yoshitoshi Abe and Hitoshi Ashinano.
What are your favorite pieces of media?
Anime/Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist; Snow White with the Red Hair; Pokémon Indigo League; March Comes in Like a Lion; Haibane Renmei; Mushishi; Wolf Children; Noragami; Trigun and far too many Studio Ghibli films to list!
Video Games: Pokémon, including Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon SoulSilver, Pokémon X , Pokémon Diamond, PMD and Pokémon Legends: Arceus; Rune Factory 4 Special, Ever Oasis, Persona 5 Royal, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, Stardew Valley, Melon Journey and Tales of the Abyss.
Books: Honeycomb by Joanne M. Harris; Star Mother by Charlie N. Holmberg; The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab; Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro; Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi; and various novels from the Shady Hollow series. I tend to read a lot of fantasy and contemporary/literary/speculative fiction!
